Your Muscat City Tour will begin with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, open from Saturday to Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (closed on Fridays). Here, admire the world’s second largest handmade carpet and the famous chandelier in the main prayer hall. After the mosque, drive by the Royal Opera House for an inside visit or a photo stop, then continue along the beautiful Shatti Qurum Beach Road and stop at the Fish Market, where you can enjoy fresh Omani bread with honey and saffron karak tea. From here, stroll along the Mutrah Corniche to the famous Mutrah Souq, a colorful market with winding alleys filled with souvenirs, antiques, and hidden treasures. Next, visit the magnificent Al Alam Palace in Old Muscat, the official palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, flanked by the 16th-century Portuguese forts Al Jalali and Al Mirani. Afterwards, explore the Bait Al Zubair Museum, a charming private heritage museum showcasing traditional Omani dresses, weapons, jewellery, and more. At the end of the tour, you can choose to be dropped off at your hotel or anywhere else in Muscat. Dress code: men must wear long trousers; women must wear long trousers or skirts, long sleeves, and cover their hair.
Enjoy a shared trip for snorkeling at Dimaniyat Island with round-trip transfers to and from your hotel. Pick-up from the hotel is at 7:30 a.m., and the boat will depart at 8:15 a.m. for a snorkeling experience from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. After the trip, return to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Wadi Shab is a vast canyon gorge filled with palm trees and lush greenery, creating its own little paradise. We leave Muscat in the morning and head towards the Wadi, stopping briefly at the Bimmah Sinkhole, a popular spot for photos and swimming in the lake. Continuing past Fins Beach, a long white-sand beach where we take a photo stop, we arrive at Wadi Shab. After an hour’s trek through the canyon, you’ll reach a crystal-clear water pool perfect for swimming. Moving forward, the trail leads to the last pool, where you’ll navigate through crevices and openings inside the canyon’s cave until you reach a small waterfall cascading into cool blue waters—truly paradise. After exploring and resting, we return to Muscat. If you prefer not to swim, you can stay near the first pools where the water is shallow. Please bring sun protection, a hat, good non-slip walking shoes, swimwear, towel, extra clothes if desired, and snacks. The tour involves some challenging hiking.
We depart Muscat at 11 a.m. and head towards the Sharqiya region, stopping briefly for photos at the quaint village of Fanja before continuing to Wadi Bani Khalid—one of Oman’s largest and most beautiful wadis. The impressive canyon features steep walls and breathtaking crystal-clear pools, perfect for swimming or sunbathing. You can explore deeper into the wadi or visit hidden caves, and enjoy lunch at a local Omani restaurant. In the afternoon, we proceed to the famous Wahiba Sands Desert for an off-road drive across endless sand dunes, where you’ll experience the true magic of the Omani desert. Visit a traditional Bedouin house to try Omani coffee and dates (subject to availability), ride camels, explore the dunes, and capture plenty of photos. After this desert adventure, we return to Muscat. If you prefer not to swim, you may stay near the shallow pools. Please bring sun protection, a hat, good non-slip walking shoes, swimwear and towel if desired, and snacks. Ladies are advised to wear clothing covering below the knees and a t-shirt.
The tour begins with a visit to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman. Nizwa Souq, one of the largest traditional markets in the country, offers a wide variety of goods including fish, meat, vegetables, pottery, jewellery, handicrafts, and souvenirs in authentic old market halls. Especially notable is the Friday cattle market, where locals from nearby villages sell donkeys, goats, cattle, sheep, and chickens in a lively open marketplace. Adjacent to the souq is Nizwa Fortress, now a museum offering splendid views of the ancient town and surrounding mountains. The fortress showcases impressive architecture from the mid-17th century Yaruba dynasty, built as a military stronghold with many hidden traps designed to deter intruders. Next, the tour visits Birkat Al Mouz Old Village and the ancient irrigation system of Al Kattmyn at the foot of Jebel Akhdar, surrounded by banana and date plantations. From there, you drive up to Jebel Akhdar, known as the Green Mountain for its fruit plantations and rose gardens (blooming May to September), with a photo stop at Diana Point. The area offers scenic walks with fantastic valley views, wadis, and abandoned villages to explore. In the late afternoon, you return to Muscat.
After breakfast check from the hotel and transfer to the Airport as per flight schedule timings.
